Today we find ourselves in the Champagne Region, north of Paris. While the picture of Peter is more appropriate for a VB ad the rest of our day was more tasteful. There is something magical and special about champagne and the story of its origins was intriquing.

Here in France your coffee will be much cheaper if you stand up and drink it at the counter - or le zinc - in Paris an espresso is about Euros 4.oo at the upper end - and about Euros 2.20, le zinc. A considerable saving!

Today we picked up our hire car from Orly Airport, just outide Paris. It is complete and utter chaos. In Australia you would be arrested for parking in this way. People stop, unpack, chat, have a cigarette and have absolutely no regard for those behind. It takes hours - seriously hours - to get through the airport chaos - and Charles de Gaul is no different. It really is very striking as to how very ordered we are in Australia!

Much action outside and in our hotel today - Vanessa Paradis (Jonny Depp's wife) was filming on location and was using our sitting room downstairs as her make-up and rest room. Peter seems to have it all going his way this holiday - no sign of Jonny!!
A return to the Patisserie was essential for another tarte frais...
Another of the seemingly endless specialist shops - in this case, selling coated chocolate - exclusively!

Saw some people get off a bus and take this picture, so thought I had better do the same!

For all the designers amongst you - this is a rust, aviary wire (like in my kitchen cabinets) on the seat and back of this chair - it looked stunning!

Would you call this a bottle shop - I think not - but, whatever the French word is for bottle shop, this is it - and those are corks in the window.

I could take her home if the Gorgeous Man would let me...
